About Our Festival
The Prairie Peddler Festival was started in 1986 by Tom and Suzi Skoglund. Suzi is an artist and made clay figurines by hand, which they would then travel to many craft shows in Ohio and surrounding states to sell her work. With the experience of selling their own handmade art, Tom and Suzi started Prairie Peddler Festival with the help of family and friends.
Prairie Peddler has always had a great list of family members and friends who work together to help make the show possible year after year and eventually Tom and Suzi's daughter Mandie would go on to become the Festival director.
Tom passed away in 2021, so today Mandie works with her mom Suzi to run the show and just like it was way back in 1986, they could not do it with the help of their amazing family and friends.
This atmosphere of family and community is what Suzi and Mandie hope you experience when you come to our festival. It's a family run event for families. I think one of the greatest things we can hear from people is 'I came here when I was a kid and now I love brining my kids!'
